Porting a Windows Phone 7 app to Windows 8 Metro UI app

As you already know, Microsoft has launched yesterday the first developper toolkit for Windows 8. It's include the new OS and the developper tools, such as Visual Studio 2011 and Blend 5.

I am a Windows Phone 7 developer since its first release and I becam a fan of the Metro UI. My first WP7 app released on the Market Place was: Snow Report.

Snow Report allows you to follow the snow report of 102 French ski resorts. Snow Report is:

  • The height of snow on the top and bottom of the resort
  • Date of last snowfall - The number of runs green, blue, red and black open
  • The temperature at the top and bottom of the resort
  • etc...

You will follow on my blog all steps to build Snow Report for Windows 8 with the Metro UI. See you soon !!

Hi there !

Specialized in .net technologies for many years, I am a technology fan in both asp.net and wpf/silverlight, using c# and .net 4.

Taking advantages of new opportunities offered by the Windows Azure platform and WP7, I develop applications for Windows 7 Phone, 2 of them are already available on the market place.
